Ingredients

  • 1 pound Pizza dough (preferably homemade or store-bought)
  • 8 oz Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 2 medium Ripe tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats.

  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thinness, about 12 inches in diameter.

  3. Transfer the dough to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a stone.

  4. Spread a thin layer of olive oil over the dough, then evenly distribute sliced fresh mozzarella over the surface.

  5. Slice the tomatoes and arrange them on top of the cheese, then sprinkle a little salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  6. Transfer the pizza to the oven (or onto the hot pizza stone) and bake for about 10-12 minutes, until the crust is golden and crisp.

  7. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and drizzle with a little olive oil before serving.
