  3. While crust bakes, whisk together 1.5 cups granulated sugar, 3 tbsp flour, 4 eggs, 2/3 cup lemon juice and 1 tsp lemon zest for the filling. Pour over hot crust and bake 18–22 minutes until set. Cool completely and dust with powdered sugar, then cut into 16 squares.

  4. For sugar cookies: cream 1 cup softened butter with 1 cup sugar until light, add 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla. Whisk 2.5 cups flour with 1 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt; add to wet ingredients to form a dough. Chill 20 minutes, roll out, cut shapes and bake 8–10 minutes at 350°F. Cool and decorate with powdered sugar icing tinted in pastels.

  5. For mini quiches: reduce oven to 375°F. In a bowl whisk 6 eggs with 1 cup heavy cream, 1 cup cheddar, chopped bacon, 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper. Fill 24 tart shells and bake 18–22 minutes until set and golden. Let cool slightly before serving.

  9. Make-ahead notes: lemon bars and sugar cookies can be made a day ahead (store in airtight containers). Quiches are best the day of but can be reheated briefly in a 300°F oven.

  10. Garnish and final touches: sprinkle microgreens or edible flowers near the savory platter and add pastel napkins and small labels for flavors if desired.

Tips & Notes

  • Work in stages: bake lemon bars and cookies first, then make quiches last so they’re freshest at serving time.
  • Swap ingredients for dietary needs: use gluten-free tart shells and flour, or replace bacon with sautéed mushrooms for a vegetarian quiche.
  • Keep presentation simple: use mismatched pastel plates and fresh herbs to make the spread feel curated without extra effort.
