These Oreo pops are the kind of easy, show-stopping treat that makes a gender reveal feel extra playful. Chocolate-dipped, decorated with pink or blue candy coating and plenty of sprinkles, they’re quick to make, portable, and adored by kids and grown-ups alike.

You can customize the colors, sprinkle mixes, or drizzle contrasts to match your party theme. The method is simple — stabilize the stick inside the cream, dip, tap off excess, and decorate — so you’ll have a dozen or two ready in under an hour.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos):24 pieces
  • Lollipop sticks:24 pieces
  • Pink candy melts:8 oz
  • Blue candy melts:8 oz
  • White chocolate or dark chocolate for drizzle (optional):2 oz
  • Vegetable shortening or coconut oil (to thin melts):2 tbsp
  • Sprinkles (pink/blue/white mix):1/2 cup
  • Sea salt:1/8 tsp
  • Parchment paper:1 sheet

Instructions

  1. Gently twist cookies to separate halves. Insert a lollipop stick into the cream of one half, then press the other half back on to sandwich the stick securely. Repeat for all cookies.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place sticks-inserted Oreos on the sheet and chill in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up the filling.

  3. Microwave the pink candy melts with 1 tbsp shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth. Repeat with the blue melts and remaining 1 tbsp shortening in a separate bowl.

  4. Holding a chilled Oreo by the stick, dip it into the colored coating to fully cover. Gently tap the stick on the bowl edge to remove excess and rotate to smooth the coating. Place back on parchment.

  5. Quickly add sprinkles before the coating sets. Alternate colors so about half the pops are pink and half are blue. If using, melt the white or dark chocolate and drizzle over cooled pops for contrast.

  6. Let the pops set at room temperature or chill for 10 minutes until firm. Store in an airtight container in a single layer or standing in a tall cup until ready to serve.

Tips & Notes

  • If your candy melts thicken, add 1/2 tsp more shortening and stir to smooth; avoid overheating or chocolate can seize.
  • Work in batches and keep already-coated pops on parchment in the fridge so the centers stay firm and the coating sets neatly.
  • Use a small spoon or fork to drizzle contrasting chocolate—lift the spoon and shake lightly for thin ribbons.
  • Make them a day ahead and keep refrigerated; bring to room temperature 15 minutes before serving so coatings aren’t too hard.
