Sweet Peach Fruit Pie with Flaky Crust
Peach Fruit Pie
There's something utterly comforting about a homemade fruit pie, especially when it's packed with sweet, ripe peaches. The aroma of baked fruit mingling with the buttery, flaky crust is enough to make anyone's mouth water, and I love how this pie brings a little bit of summer to your table any time of year.
This peach pie is straightforward to make but looks and tastes incredibly special. Using fresh fruit and a tender crust, you'll have everyone asking for seconds. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of fresh whipped cream for the perfect treat.
Ingredients
- 6 pieces Peaches
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg (ground)
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 roll Pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 425°F. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish.
-
In a large bowl, gently toss sliced peaches with sugar, flour, lemon juice, nutmeg, and salt until well coated.
-
Pour the peach filling into the prepared crust, spreading it evenly.
-
Cover the filling with another layer of pie crust or cut strips for a lattice top. Trim and crimp edges.
-
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 25-25 minutes until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
-
Allow the pie to cool for at least 2 hours before serving to let the filling set. Enjoy your homemade peach fruit pie!
Tips & Notes
- Use ripe peaches for the best flavor. If peaches are slightly tart, increase the sugar slightly.
- For a shiny crust, brush the top with an egg wash before baking.
