This New York-style cheesecake is the ultimate indulgence for anyone who loves rich, velvety desserts. Its dense, creamy texture and slightly tangy flavor make it a timeless treat that’s perfect for special occasions or even just because you deserve a slice.

What sets this cheesecake apart is the smooth, luscious cream cheese filling baked atop a buttery graham cracker crust. Ensuring proper chilling time helps achieve that iconic firm yet silky consistency that fans of a classic New York cheesecake adore.

Ingredients

  • Graham cracker crumbs:1 1/2 cups
  • Granulated sugar:1/4 cup
  • Unsalted butter:1/2 cup
  • Cream cheese:4 oz
  • Granulated sugar (for filling):1 1/2 cups
  • Sour cream:1/2 cup
  • Vanilla extract:1 tsp
  • Eggs:4 large

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Mix graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter together until well combined. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool.

  3. Pour the filling over the cooled crust and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center slightly jiggles.

  4. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door slightly ajar for about an hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.

Tips & Notes

  • Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter.
  • Use a water bath if you want to prevent cracking and ensure even baking.
