Lavender lemonade is one of those magical drinks that instantly transports you to a sun-drenched garden on a lazy summer afternoon. The combination of tart fresh lemons and delicate floral lavender creates something truly special—it's refreshing without being overly sweet, and sophisticated enough to impress guests at any gathering. I love how this recipe celebrates two simple ingredients and transforms them into something memorable.

What I adore most about making lavender lemonade at home is how affordable and easy it is. A handful of dried culinary lavender, some good lemons, and a bit of sugar are all you need to create a drink that tastes like bottled luxury. Whether you're serving it at a garden party or sipping it quietly on your porch, this lemonade reminds you that the best summer drinks don't need to be complicated.

Ingredients

  • Fresh lemons:8 pieces
  • Water:6 cups
  • Granulated sugar:¾ cup
  • Dried culinary lavender:2 tbsp
  • Ice:2 cups

Instructions

  1. Juice the fresh lemons to get about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Set aside.

  2. In a saucepan, combine water and dried lavender. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and let the lavender steep for 5 minutes, infusing the water with its floral flavor.

Tips & Notes

  • Use culinary-grade dried lavender from the spice aisle, not decorative lavender from craft stores.
  • Make the lavender syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to a week for quick lemonade anytime.
  • Don't over-steep the lavender or it can become bitter—5 minutes is perfect.
  • For a sparkling version, top with chilled club soda or sparkling water instead of still water.
  • Adjust the sugar to your taste preference—some prefer it slightly more tart.
