This Refreshing Fruit Tea is my answer to those moments when you want something more interesting than plain water but lighter than coffee. There's something absolutely magical about combining brewed tea with fresh fruit—the warmth of the tea brings out the natural flavors of the berries and citrus, creating a drink that's both comforting and invigorating. Whether you serve it hot or chilled, it's a celebration of simple, wholesome ingredients.

I love that this tea is endlessly customizable. Prefer strawberries over raspberries? Go for it. Want to add a hint of ginger or a vanilla bean? Absolutely. The beauty lies in playing with what's fresh and available to you. It's the kind of recipe that feels special without requiring any fancy equipment or techniques—just quality tea, beautiful fruit, and a few minutes of steeping time.

Ingredients

  • Black tea bags or loose leaf tea:4 pieces
  • Fresh raspberries:1 cup
  • Fresh blueberries:¾ cup
  • Fresh lemon:1 whole
  • Fresh lime:½ whole
  • Water:4 cups
  • Honey or agave nectar:2 tbsp
  • Fresh mint leaves:6 leaves
  • Ice cubes:1 cup

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a kettle. Once it reaches a rolling boil, remove from heat.

Tips & Notes

  • For a stronger fruit flavor, let the tea, berries, and citrus infuse together for 30 minutes before serving.
  • If you prefer your tea less sweet, reduce the honey to 1 tablespoon or use a natural sweetener like stevia.
  • Make a big batch in the morning and refrigerate—it keeps beautifully for up to 3 days.
  • Don't squeeze the fruit slices directly into the tea; gently float them for the best presentation.
  • For a fun twist, add a cinnamon stick or a few whole cloves while steeping for warm spiced fruit tea.
